Caroline has had a busy day indeed. We had some surplus  beetroots and, out of curiosity, wanted to find out what colour dye it would make. Not red as  we all might think, or possibly blue, or even grey. After temporarily trashing the kitchen, the result was the deepest of golden yellows.</p>
