The Puffins are back!

I was speaking to Willie Munro of Caithness Seacoast Sea Tours today. He tells me the first Puffins have made landfall near to where I am, just south of Wick. Exciting stuff. I’ve since found that Puffins have also been sighted on Duncansby Head, just a couple of miles from John O’Groats.

Who can fail to fall in love with these most attractive and sometimes comical looking creatures. They grace us with their presence every year, just for a couple of months to raise their young, then leave to spend the rest of their time on the wing at sea. One amazing creature.

For me, the big bonus is, that Willie has generously promised a trip out on his fast RIB Geo Explorer to do a photo shoot. That’s something I’m really looking forwards to. Nice one Willie, thanks.
