Strathy Point, Sutherland

Took some time out yesterday and spent the afternoon on the north coast near Strathy Point, Sutherland. Maybe not a brilliant day for picture taking, but managed to get a couple of shots worth keeping. This one looks quite dramatic in mono, and I didn’t need to do much on my computer. I use Nikon Capture NX 2 and all that was required was to open the image as a mono, apply the red filter effect, adjust the curves and levels a tad, and that’s about it. Still a fair dusting of snow around at lower levels, and plenty of ice on the lochs.
