 At long last, after a long hard winter, the lambing season is upon us. It’s a time of year that brings so much joy and happiness, and yet can be heartbreaking at the same time. A few weeks ago we had a false start with still born twins, but as they say, “A bad start, [...]  I was speaking to Willie Munro of Caithness Seacoast Sea Tours today. He tells me the first Puffins have made landfall near to where I am, just south of Wick. Exciting stuff. I’ve since found that Puffins have also been sighted on Duncansby Head, just a couple of miles from John O’Groats. Who can fail to [...]  It’s nearly that time of year. Now the snow has gone, the days getting longer and warmer. Time for a brief pause after the rigours of winter and a time to reflect on last year and what this year may bring. New page, Camster Cairns in the ‘things to do’ part of the main web site. The cairns are an ancient site dating back as far as as 4000BC, with evidence of human neolithic activity prior to their existence. Access is easy and FREE. Caithness is rich in archaeological sites, so, more to come about other [...]  The new site is working well, so well in fact, I’ve managed to start off a ‘Things to do’ section.
